ClaireCam turns your smartphone into a dashcam. Mount your phone on the windshield or center dashboard, open the app, and tap Record. Video is saved locally on your device in configurable loop-recording chunks. When device storage runs low, the oldest unlocked recordings are automatically deleted so you never run out of room.

Yes. When you swipe home during recording, ClaireCam enters Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode and continues recording uninterrupted while you navigate with Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze. Tapping the floating PiP window returns you to the full camera viewfinder.

ClaireCam Pro unlocks dual camera recording (front windshield road view + cabin view simultaneously), 4K resolution at 30 fps, real-time speed camera audio alerts, and automated driver composure scores for $2.99/month. The free standard tier includes 1080p recording, loop storage, and GPS trajectory tracking.

Subscriptions are managed directly through Apple. Open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone, select ClaireCam Pro, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also tap Settings > Manage Subscription inside the ClaireCam app.

Yes. ClaireCam does not require an account and collects zero personal data. All recordings and telemetry remain stored in private app sandbox storage on your physical smartphone. You can adjust your dedicated storage allocation in Settings from 1 GB to 150 GB. At standard 1080p, ClaireCam utilizes roughly 4.5 GB per hour of recorded driving. The app displays real-time disk usage and automatically prunes unlocked segments when your quota is reached.

Location permissions are strictly used to compute driving speed, look up local speed limits, tag recordings with GPS coordinates for route trajectory playback, and provide safety scoring. Location is only active while a drive is being recorded.

Open the in-app Gallery, select a session, and tap Share. You can trim the clip, toggle audio on or off, and choose between Export Video (saves to Photos or AirDrop) or Share Web Link (generates an encrypted web link for family or insurance review).

Speed limit data is queried live from OpenStreetMap and requires an internet connection. Verify that cellular data is active, location permissions are set to "While Using App", and you are driving on a mapped public road.

ClaireCam requires iOS 17.0 or later on iPhone. Dual-camera simultaneous recording requires an iPhone XS or newer multi-lens device. The Android client requires Android 11+ with Camera2 multi-camera support.
